This has been tracked down to the replacement of lightdm in the archive with Debian's version. It is missing the ubuntu only lightdm-session wrapper. I can only assume, users of lightdm are now supposed to define the session-wrapper themselves - Debian has always had to.
We'll fix this by shipping our own wrapper file and modify our lightdm config to use this session-wrapper via our budgie-artwork package ** Also affects: budgie-artwork (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New ** No longer affects: ubuntubudgie -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Budgie Developers, which is subscribed to budgie-artwork in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/2098411 Title: All snaps are not visible to the end-user Status in budgie-artwork package in Ubuntu: New Status in snapd package in Ubuntu: Invalid Bug description: In 25.04 for several weeks, no snaps such as firefox are visible in the menu. snap list displays the snap snap run firefox runs the snap, the snap itself is missing from the menu. checked in /var/lib/snapd/desktop/applications and all the .desktop files are there echo $PATH returns /usr/local/sbin:/usr/local/bin:/usr/sbin:/usr/bin:/sbin:/bin:/usr/games:/usr/local/games:/snap/bin This is a regression from noble/oracular where snaps are visible and work out of the box. Other observations - in the live session, snaps are also not visible. The snap installer does not launch either - you have to double click the desktop icon to launch. Again a regression from oracular. --- ProblemType: Bug ApportVersion: 2.31.0-0ubuntu5 Architecture: amd64 CasperMD5CheckResult: pass CurrentDesktop: Budgie:GNOME DistroRelease: Ubuntu 25.04 InstallationDate: Installed on 2025-02-13 (0 days ago) InstallationMedia: Ubuntu-Budgie 25.04 "Plucky Puffin" - Daily amd64 (20250213) Package: snapd 2.67.1+25.04 PackageArchitecture: amd64 ProcEnviron: LANG=en_US.UTF-8 PATH=(custom, no user) SHELL=/bin/bash TERM=xterm-256color XDG_RUNTIME_DIR=<set> ProcVersionSignature: Ubuntu 6.12.0-15.15-generic 6.12.11 SnapChanges: no changes found Tags: plucky Uname: Linux 6.12.0-15-generic x86_64 UpgradeStatus: No upgrade log present (probably fresh install) UserGroups: adm cdrom dip lpadmin plugdev sudo users _MarkForUpload: True To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/budgie-artwork/+bug/2098411/+subscriptions -- Mailing list: https://launchpad.net/~ubuntubudgie-dev Post to : ubuntubudgie-dev@lists.launchpad.net Unsubscribe : https://launchpad.net/~ubuntubudgie-dev More help : https://help.launchpad.net/ListHelp
