--------------- budgie-desktop-environment (0.19.4~23.04.1) lunar; urgency=medium * Default raspi settings to use the correct theme name for lunar (LP: #2018161) -- David Mohammed <fossfree...@ubuntu.com> Sat, 29 Apr 2023 20:14:46 +0100 ** Changed in: budgie-desktop-environment (Ubuntu Lunar) Status: Fix Committed => Fix Released -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Budgie Developers, which is subscribed to budgie-desktop-environment in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/2018161 Title: Raspi desktop is unthemed Status in budgie-desktop-environment package in Ubuntu: Fix Released Status in budgie-desktop-environment source package in Lunar: Fix Released Status in budgie-desktop-environment source package in Mantic: Fix Released Bug description: [ Impact ] * When installing the Ubuntu Budgie desktop on the raspi, no theme is selected. This is due to the name of the theme changing from QogirBudgie-dark to QogirBudgie-Dark. Since the desktop tries to load the previous name, no theme gets selected. On initial startup, the top panel appears white and the icons are grey. This makes some parts of the desktop difficult to see, and provides an unprofessional-looking appearance. The user must manually select a theme to fix this. * The upload addresses this by changing the theme name that it loads to the new name (QogirBudgie-Dark) [ Test Plan ] To reproduce: * download the Lunar Lobster Raspi preinstalled desktop image * burn the image to a sd card, boot the raspi from the card, and complete the initial setup * upon completion, after logging in for the first time, install the RaspiBudgie desktop: sudo apt install ubuntu-budgie-desktop-raspi selecting LightDM from the menu when given the option. * Reboot and log in to the Budgie desktop * The desktop does not have a theme selected and looks odd * Open Budgie Desktop Settings - Style Page and see that the dropdown for the Widget appearance is blank * After this, the proposed fix can be applied. Reboot the raspi and log in to the Budgie desktop. * The desktop now appears correctly themed * Open Budgie Desktop Settings and see the QogirBudgie-Dark theme is correctly selected [ Where problems could occur ] * The main issue that could occur is if the user has manually renamed their theme folder. In this instance, they would just need to select the theme again. [ Other Info ] ---- Raspi settings for budgie is unthemed. This is due to the wrong name for the gtk-theme Currently is is set to QogirBudgie-dark when the theme name should be QogirBudgie-Dark ProblemType: Bug DistroRelease: Ubuntu 23.04 Package: budgie-raspi-settings 0.19.3 ProcVersionSignature: Ubuntu 6.2.0-20.20-generic 6.2.6 Uname: Linux 6.2.0-20-generic x86_64 ApportVersion: 2.26.1-0ubuntu2 Architecture: amd64 CasperMD5CheckResult: pass CurrentDesktop: Budgie:GNOME Date: Sat Apr 29 20:10:28 2023 InstallationDate: Installed on 2023-03-29 (30 days ago) InstallationMedia: Ubuntu-Budgie 23.04 "Lunar Lobster" - Beta amd64 (20230329) PackageArchitecture: all SourcePackage: budgie-desktop-environment UpgradeStatus: No upgrade log present (probably fresh install) To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/budgie-desktop-environment/+bug/2018161/+subscriptions -- Mailing list: https://launchpad.net/~ubuntubudgie-dev Post to : ubuntubudgie-dev@lists.launchpad.net Unsubscribe : https://launchpad.net/~ubuntubudgie-dev More help : https://help.launchpad.net/ListHelp
