To me this is currently unacceptable. This bug has been reported even before the release of lucid and it has been confirmed now for just one month. According to freedesktop.org this bug has even been fixed over one year ago. I don't know if you are seeing the severity of this. Every IBM ThinkCentre (and there do exist a lot of them around the globe) is using this graphics card/driver and they all crash randomly when browsing with firefox, reading emails with thunderbird or editing some files in OpenOffice. I think this bug really has a very high importance and I personally will start tesing around with packages from maverick and debian squeeze to get my 35 users a stable system.
