I have tested an upgrade from kubuntu 10.04 to 10.10 and even a fresh install
and have issues with desktop effects:
First it seems that desktop effects are not all activated on boot, sometime I
have to use ALT+MAJ+F12 to activate them
Second, all screenshots that show the 10.10 desktop (and for what I remember
what I have in the 10.04) the taskbar was transprent. Right now, all is grey
with the default theme. I have a Dell Inspiron 1525 with an Intel graphic card.
Please let me know what logs or information you need to investigate
further.
