This bug persists in the official driver as originally described. However, installing a newer version of xserver-xorg-video-intel mitigates the problem.
I installed version 2:2.11.0-1ubuntu1~xup from the "X Updates" repository (https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat/+archive/x-updates) and have not experienced any X crashes after repeatedly suspending and resuming from RAM. # add-apt-repository ppa:ubuntu-x-swat/x-updates # aptitude update && aptitude safe-upgrade With the new driver, I can suspend without worrying about my system crashing. Text rendering is routinely yet benignly impaired on resume, but upgrading the driver is a definite improvement. ** Attachment added: "Suspend is functional with version 2.11, though text rendering (pictured) is occasionally buggy. Usually just one or two letters are affected; this screenshot is an extreme example." https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/xserver-xorg-video-intel/+bug/582057/+attachment/1720992/+files/text.png -- [i915g] X Crashes After Resume from Suspend https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/582057 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu-X, which is subscribed to xserver-xorg-video-intel in ubuntu. _______________________________________________ Mailing list: https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat Post to : ubuntu-x-swat@lists.launchpad.net Unsubscribe : https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat More help : https://help.launchpad.net/ListHelp
