I still have this problem (ie get only 800x600) using a Fujitsu Siemens Esprimo Mobile V5535 with [SiS] 771/671 PCIE VGA Display Adapter. I understand there is a collection of drivers here : http://ncc-1701a.homelinux.net/~linux-sis/index.php?page=Downloads I tried a few of them, but they do not seem to work. I am more than willing to try a solution on my laptop
