@auxbuss after grub it goes blank for about 20 seconds then the nvidia logo comes up for about 1 minute then the generic background comes up for about 15 seconds then my chosen photo background comes up for about 15 seconds then the top and bottom panel appears then the gnome-do window then another 5 - 10 seconds before the mouse become responsive and everything becomes "normal"
