@Seth: Are you also watching bug #625239? This is where I've posted all of my feedback, and there is active work going on there. It's difficult for me to be certain of whether we're experiencing the very same bug or not. I'm also on Lucid, nvidia-current, current updates and on a fast machine, and experiencing X resets after first boot (to VT2) and ending up on VT8 after second login.
