The PPA (LUCID: https://launchpad.net/~info-g-com/+archive/xserver- xorg-1.7.6-gc ) works great on my Lenovo W500 (01:00.0 VGA compatible controller: ATI Technologies Inc Mobility Radeon HD 3650) with one exception, when resuming it can sometimes churn the disk for a minute or two..
