I am no longer able to reproduce this with fresh install or upgrade.
Nikola are you able to reproduce this. You may be able to regenerate an
xorg.conf to test. Using the xorg-edgers PPA I have nvidia-current
working. it fixed bug #616023 as well.

After upgrading to latest kernel i get a black screen and cant do anything 
except ctrl+alt+delete to reboot
