couldn't find package linux-image-2.6.34-v9patch-generic I tried the patch after being told that it might make it possible for me to upgrade to Ubuntu v10. I'm still unable to upgrade to Ubuntu v10: http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?p=9774440#post9774440 The first command in your list is erroneous (apt-add).
