First of all, thank you for making the latest nvidia drivers available. That's a great service.
Just a question about dpkg behavior when installing from deb http://ppa.launchpad.net/ubuntu-x-swat/x-updates/ubuntu lucid main instead of the official Ubuntu repository containing the nvidia drivers. Installation of files from this PPA says that the DKMS modules are being removed. Installation from the official repository uses DKMS to install the drivers on all kernels. Why the difference? Does this mean that I should use ppa-purge every time the kernel is updated and then re-install from the PPA to get the latest nvidia drivers? Again, thanks for this service. Just inquiring about the PPA's DKMS capabilities. Jim Simerly
