After I installed Karmic, altough I do have a display, which is good, the computer hanged a few times (after 10 to 20 minutes use everything stops). I know this is not the place to discuss this problem, but as David said he is using th HP2540p without problem and I don't know how to get directly to him...
I have installed Karmic and then run aptitude dist-upgrade.
