I have 5 HP Touchsmart TX2 laptops. On all of them, when I do shutdown, the system appears to shutdown but does not actually turn off. This did not happen in Karmic. It started with 10.04 Lucid. I tried the upstart job in comment #3. Has no effect. Have to manually press and hold the power switch in order for each laptop to actually turn off. I have all updates applied.
