Maybe he was referring to the new intel driver, version 2.12.0 released June 24, which carries some pertaining fixes. I've tried it in Fedora, with current mesa and libdrm packages and the versions mentioned in the release announce at intellinux.org, but only with kernel 2.6.33.3, and the bug remains for me.
