I can confirm the same problem on my new E6410 w/Intel graphics card. All hints here helped me installing 10.04 (kubuntu) using the alternate amd64-cd und updating the system in a recovery shell. But trying to restart in normal mode always results in a black screen with blinking nun/caps lock leds even nomodeset or whatever was mentioned above doesn't help.
Starting with i915.blacklist=true xforcevesa results in a pink screen and text VT showing alternaty for 10-15 seconds. After that there is a black screen again but w/o blinking leds. Althoung hitting the caps lock key does not change the led state the system make a shutdown when pressing the off button. So vesa does not work, too. So there is no chance to get it running now? :-( -- [lucid] [i915] blank screen on Latitude E6410 https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/561802 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu-X, which is subscribed to xorg in ubuntu. _______________________________________________ Mailing list: https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat Post to : ubuntu-x-swat@lists.launchpad.net Unsubscribe : https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat More help : https://help.launchpad.net/ListHelp
