OK, the first should work even if there is an error make[2]: *** No rule to make target `sis6...@driver_man_suffix@', needed by `all-am'. Stop. This is no fatal error. Try sudo make install in the directory then the driver files should be copied to /usr/local/lib/xorg/modules/drivers/sis671_drv.*
