3) i switch on the display after the login manager has loaded and
resolution is set to 1680x1050 (my display res)
4) when i switch on the display after the login manager has loaded the screen
resolution is set to 1024x768.
even after login the resolution remains at 1024x768.
after logging out, the login managers screen resolution is 1680x1050 which is
normal.
