I am experiencing a similar issue that may be related, my LG246WP identifies as a Goldstar Ltd. 24" screen. This occurs when connected via DVI->VGA and DVI->HDMI. When connected via DVI->VGA, all expected resolutions display properly. When connected via DVI->HDMI, the screen is cropped and off-center (see attachments for a screenshot and a screen picture).
