You have been subscribed to a public bug: This is a highly annoying bug. I dont know from where this idea came, to make Ubuntu oversensitive to heat. No matter how or why, my computer with Nvidia 8500 GT is constantly overheating. This is a major bug because every time I try to install Ubuntu 9.10, it fails because overheating shut down my computer. It has happened at least 4 times in the last 2 days. Only way I found out of this, was to first install Ubuntu 8.04 and then later Ubuntu 9.10. This has been a highly annoying bug, making my new computer with Pentium D processor unusable. Before this temperature aware program came into Ubuntu, I never had a single problem in any Ubuntu or Windows. Give me back how it was before!
