Just to note, that as soon I uninstalled the sever components(postgresql database sever in my case) I had needed temporarily the issue came back. More often than not for cold boots fail and from what I see from the logs KDM writes, X fails without any clear error messages after trying to load the nvidia driver. I suspect it's because the kernel driver is not done with initalizing hardware yet. I am not however aware how alter upstart so, that X would start little bit later. It seems to be a a matter of few seconds only.
