Hey Geir, Holding down shift got the grub menu to show up.
Anyways - recovery mode does not work - the 2.6.32-15 kernel (recovery) has the same problem. Selecting the older kernel (2.6.31-20) gave some cryptic error about not finding a device, but when I pressed the power button, it booted into Lucid.
