You have been subscribed to a public bug: My digital tablet (see details below) does not work on 9.10. It worked without any configuration (nothing added to xorg.conf either) or any special drivers in 9.04.
Currently, I can move the cursor around the screen, but clicks do not register. I cannot draw in the gimp either since it doesn't register pen clicks. Since this is a generic tablet, I followed several guides for similar models. None of them fixed the problems. Fixes I've tried: * Using Wacom driver + fix: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/wacom-tools/+bug/392825 * Using Aipteh driver + fdi fix: https://help.ubuntu.com/community/AiptekTablet * No driver (xorg/evdev/xinput) with hal/fdi changes Again, this tablet worked perfectly in 9.04 without any configuration or additional software installed. I just plugged it in and told gimp to use extended input (tablet). In gimp now, I see the tablet listed, but it says status: "Device unavailable: permission denied" I tried tracking down and chmod the /dev/input/eventX, which fixed the status. But it still did not work. I've even tried on a clean install now, not upgraded 9.04 -> 9.10. I did get wacom tools to see the pen clicks using wacdump, however, X and the gimp still did not respond to them. Hardware: "WALTOP International Corp.
