The gnome-power-manager 2.28.1-0ubuntu1.3 shows a warning about a bug in xserver. The message points to the following blog post: http://blogs.gnome.org/hughsie/2009/08/17/gnome-power-manager-and-blanking-removal-of-bodges/ In short, Richard Hughes says that a patch should be applied to the X server to fix a bug related to blanking.
