Bryan Quigley, Karmic has now reached its stable version and we shall only backport patches which fix a regression, data loss or are security fixes. You can find more information on this at https://wiki.ubuntu.com/StableReleaseUpdates. Since, backporting this patch to karmic needs large changes, this change will not be seen in karmic.
