** Description changed: Binary package hint: xorg I have random screen glitching and flashing on the eeepc 1005ha. There is no specific pattern to the occurrences . I have not tried using an external monitor. I also have experienced twice a black screen while working. I cannot switch to another tty and have to hard boot. After the most recent apt-get upgrade (did 3 now in 24 hours) the problem with flashing is is not noticeable. The black screen still occurs (3 times now) where I am trying to do something and the system just locks up. No ttys. Last time I was entering a url in firefox. Before that I think I was trying to open a server in xchat. After another day, the black flashing still occurs. I notice it most while using firefox although it happens elsewhere. I disabled the black screen saver and have tried to adjust power management.
