I doubt that this problem is related to the nvidia driver. I tested a suspend from the virtual terminal (stopped X and unloaded the nvidia module) - after resume, the monitor is black with some white rectangles but switches to standby soon. Switching to a vt with ctrl-alt-f* does not work. Rebooting the system with ctrl-alt-del works, though.
I have this problem on my desktop and notebook computer - both have a nvidia card (but different ones). So maybe it is hardware related, but not the the nvidia-binary driver itself. Suspend/resume worked on both system without any problems in the last couple of Ubuntu releases. ** Also affects: linux (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Also affects: pm-utils (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- [lucid regression] random graphics effects after resume from suspend to RAM https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/510004 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu-X, which is subscribed to nvidia-graphics-drivers in ubuntu. _______________________________________________ Mailing list: https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat Post to : ubuntu-x-swat@lists.launchpad.net Unsubscribe : https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat More help : https://help.launchpad.net/ListHelp
