There is still a problem unless the main x-org file has been changed on the cd iso image for Karmic. I do not know if the old 71 nvidia drivers are now in the repositories or not. I use and old TNT Riva card and it requires the 71 nv drivers. If you can make sure this file is included in the repositories then someone new to ubuntu would not have to go to the Nvidia site and install manually. You know a newbe will not do this they will just drop the Linux CD into the garbage bin.
