I had this worked out with https://launchpad.net/~k0ekk0ek/+archive/ppa, but after Ubuntu updated it's packages I got the slowness again :-| Thankfully, it seems like k0ekk0ek have updated the ppa and today I got some new packages from there which made everything fast again. Just wanted to thank k0ekk0ek again, and tell everyone about this solution which worked (once again) for me.
