Bartosz, I rebooted after creating the one-line /etc/X11/xorg.conf file. It did not quite work. I got this error in a dialog box:
"Ubuntu is runnign in low-graphics mode The following error was encountered. You may need to update your configuration to solve this. (EE) Problem parsing the config file (EE) Error parsing the config fie" My xorg.conf file contained, again, just the one line "HorizSync 30.0-100.0" as you suggested. I will now delete the file (returning things to the way they used to be since I used to have no such file at all) and will wait until there is a definite (or very likely) working solution before making any other changes so that I don't accidentally make things worse by experimenting. Thanks in advance for any such further suggestions. -- [K8M800]Screen resolution used to be ok in Ubuntu 6, not in 8.04 and later https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/503674 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu-X, which is subscribed to xserver-xorg-video-openchrome in ubuntu. _______________________________________________ Mailing list: https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat Post to : ubuntu-x-swat@lists.launchpad.net Unsubscribe : https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat More help : https://help.launchpad.net/ListHelp
