Public bug reported: Binary package hint: xorg
After I rebooted after doing today's updates (which I believe included kernel updates), my machine enters low graphics mode and I cannot switch visual effects to normal or extra. It says that it is searching for drivers. I don't understand this: I have never had this problem in the past. -Yos ProblemType: Bug Architecture: i386 CheckboxSubmission: 3c35808144fe1c1a138c1bf7bab0fac9 CheckboxSystem: af155dd0cdf1d2b282b904bfa1cd8e2d Date: Sat Dec 12 21:20:26 2009 DistroRelease: Ubuntu 10.04 InstallationMedia: Ubuntu 9.10 "Karmic Koala" - Release i386 (20091028.5) MachineType: TOSHIBA Satellite A215 Package: xorg 1:7.5~3ubuntu2 ProcCmdLine: BOOT_IMAGE=/boot/vmlinuz-2.6.32-7-generic root=UUID=488b4105-b16c-4279-9ffc-24e560aa167d ro quiet splash ProcEnviron: LANG=en_US.UTF-8 SHELL=/bin/bash ProcVersionSignature: Ubuntu 2.6.32-7.10-generic RelatedPackageVersions: xserver-xorg 1:7.5~3ubuntu2 libgl1-mesa-glx 7.6.1~rc2-1ubuntu1 libdrm2 2.4.14-1ubuntu2 xserver-xorg-video-intel 2:2.9.1-1ubuntu1 xserver-xorg-video-ati 1:6.12.99+git20090929.7968e1fb-0ubuntu2 SourcePackage: xorg Symptom: display Tags: performance lucid Uname: Linux 2.6.32-7-generic i686 XorgConf: Error: [Errno 2] No such file or directory: '/etc/X11/xorg.conf' dmi.bios.date: 06/02/2009 dmi.bios.vendor: Phoenix Technologies LTD dmi.bios.version: 1.90 dmi.board.name: SB600 dmi.board.vendor: ATI dmi.board.version: Rev 1 dmi.chassis.asset.tag: No Asset Tag dmi.chassis.type: 1 dmi.chassis.vendor: AMD dmi.chassis.version: None dmi.modalias: dmi:bvnPhoenixTechnologiesLTD:bvr1.90:bd06/02/2009:svnTOSHIBA:pnSatelliteA215:pvrPSAFGU-02L002:rvnATI:rnSB600:rvrRev1:cvnAMD:ct1:cvrNone: dmi.product.name: Satellite A215 dmi.product.version: PSAFGU-02L002 dmi.sys.vendor: TOSHIBA fglrx: Not loaded system: distro: Ubuntu architecture: i686kernel: 2.6.32-7-generic xkbcomp: Error: command ['xkbcomp', ':0', '-w0', '-'] failed with exit code 1: No protocol specified Error: Cannot open display ":0" Exiting ** Affects: xorg (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Tags: apport-bug i386 lucid performance -- low graphics mode after today's update https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/495973 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu-X, which is subscribed to xorg in ubuntu. _______________________________________________ Mailing list: https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat Post to : ubuntu-x-swat@lists.launchpad.net Unsubscribe : https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat More help : https://help.launchpad.net/ListHelp
