I used to compile my own kernels in gentoo all the time, but it's just
all those options. I know it's gonna take some time to do the first
couple of times, and I'm just too lazy at the moment.. maybe I should
try though, but as you pointed out, it's rather useless if we already
know that it won't solve the problem.
