@john_s actually when compositing is supported, the user experience is a lot better with compositing turned on.
The issue with thin clients is that some drivers seem to make X crash, for others, the same magic as for desktop computers get executed to determine if whether or not the hardware is capable of doing 3D acceleration, AIGLX and compositing. I run compiz on all the thin clients that I have and on which compiz works correctly (mostly intel graphic) and it gives you a user experience a lot better than what you have without any compositing manager. -- LTSP Karmic Ubuntu 9.10 - Unable to log in https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/463369 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu-X, which is subscribed to xserver-xorg-video-ati in ubuntu. _______________________________________________ Mailing list: https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat Post to : ubuntu-x-swat@lists.launchpad.net Unsubscribe : https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat More help : https://help.launchpad.net/ListHelp
