Public bug reported: Binary package hint: xorg
When I upgraded from 9.04 to 9.10, I could no longer use max resolution with my monitor. Max is 1920x1080, I can't go past 1280x720 and maintain a 16:9 ratio. Past that, most graphics don't display correctly if at all. I tried going through the suggestions at http://wiki.ubuntu.com/X/Troubleshooting but that did not work. The only workaround I have so far is to use a display resolution of 1280x720. t...@tom-desktop:~$ lsb_release -rd Description: Ubuntu 9.10 Release: 9.10 ProblemType: Bug Architecture: amd64 CheckboxSubmission: ea6c490a375311c5bf94ccf861ed75e9 CheckboxSystem: daed2f3d6643b4a84b4520a2427f8c2b Date: Tue Nov 3 10:31:51 2009 DistroRelease: Ubuntu 9.10 MachineType: SYX snc302eeh Package: xorg 1:7.4+3ubuntu7 ProcCmdLine: root=UUID=added10b-7e99-4476-a91c-425692ad9f72 ro quiet splash ProcEnviron: PATH=(cususername, user) LANG=en_US.UTF-8 SHELL=/bin/bash ProcVersionSignature: Ubuntu 2.6.31-14.48-generic RelatedPackageVersions: xserver-xorg 1:7.4+3ubuntu7 libgl1-mesa-glx 7.6.0-1ubuntu4 libdrm2 2.4.14-1ubuntu1 xserver-xorg-video-intel 2:2.9.0-1ubuntu2 xserver-xorg-video-ati 1:6.12.99+git20090929.7968e1fb-0ubuntu1 SourcePackage: xorg Uname: Linux 2.6.31-14-generic x86_64 dmi.bios.date: 10/09/2003 dmi.bios.vendor: Award Software International, Inc. dmi.bios.version: F2 dmi.board.name: GA-K8VT800M dmi.board.vendor: Gigabyte dmi.board.version: Via K8T800/8237 dmi.chassis.type: 3 dmi.modalias: dmi:bvnAwardSoftwareInternational,Inc.:bvrF2:bd10/09/2003:svnSYX:pnsnc302eeh:pvr:rvnGigabyte:rnGA-K8VT800M:rvrViaK8T800/8237:cvn:ct3:cvr: dmi.product.name: snc302eeh dmi.sys.vendor: SYX fglrx: Not loaded system: distro: Ubuntu architecture: x86_64kernel: 2.6.31-14-generic ** Affects: xorg (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Tags: amd64 apport-bug -- Can't display 1920x1080, only as high as 1280x720 for 16:9 https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/472960 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu-X, which is subscribed to xorg in ubuntu. _______________________________________________ Mailing list: https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat Post to : ubuntu-x-swat@lists.launchpad.net Unsubscribe : https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat More help : https://help.launchpad.net/ListHelp
