@Jerone Young You don't get the white ubuntu logo. I can plug in an external monitor and I see a display on that monitor. It is the LCD panel from AUO causing the problems. Also, if I select the last kernel from Intrepid (2.6.28-16) in grub, then everything works great (but FF3.5 is very slow). Kernel 2.6.31-14 combined with the AUO panel are the culprits.
