It appears the Nvidia driver is somehow not installed properly. Xorg is using software rendering instead of the Nvidia driver on this machine. That's also why it doesn't support the HDMI connector.
Try uninstalling and reinstalling the Nvidia driver. Also check to see if you have any custom Xorg config files that might cause the Nvidia driver to not get loaded. ** Package changed: xorg (Ubuntu) => nvidia-graphics-drivers-340 (Ubuntu) ** Summary changed: - HDMI not recognized after upgrading from 18.04 to 20.04.3 + Nvidia 340 Xorg driver is installed but not loaded -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu-X, which is subscribed to xorg in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1946987 Title: Nvidia 340 Xorg driver is installed but not loaded To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/nvidia-graphics-drivers-340/+bug/1946987/+subscriptions _______________________________________________ Mailing list: https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat Post to : ubuntu-x-swat@lists.launchpad.net Unsubscribe : https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat More help : https://help.launchpad.net/ListHelp
