Thanks for the bug report. If appears the Nvidia driver is having trouble detecting your Nvidia GPU. It also appears you have installed a version of the Nvidia driver that is:
(a) Not supported by Ubuntu; and (b) The only version supporting your GPU according to the Nvidia website. I am not sure what to do in this case. I suggest starting by uninstalling the driver you have manually installed and then use the 'Additional Drivers' app to search for a supported driver. ** Package changed: xorg (Ubuntu) => nvidia-graphics-drivers-430 (Ubuntu) ** Changed in: nvidia-graphics-drivers-430 (Ubuntu) Status: New => Incomplete ** Summary changed: - Xorg unable to select nvidia + Xorg unable to select Nvidia GeForce 920M -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu-X, which is subscribed to xorg in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1916243 Title: Xorg unable to select Nvidia GeForce 920M To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/nvidia-graphics-drivers-430/+bug/1916243/+subscriptions _______________________________________________ Mailing list: https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat Post to : ubuntu-x-swat@lists.launchpad.net Unsubscribe : https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat More help : https://help.launchpad.net/ListHelp
