Installing xserver-xorg-dev fixed the error: Package xorg-server was not found in the pkg-config search path. Perhaps you should add the directory containing `xorg-server.pc ' to the PKG_CONFIG_PATH environment variable No package 'xorg-server' found
But the settings are reset on reboot.
