ohai. so I tried to start into "wayland" session but the option is not there the only options are "Gonome on Xorg". "Gnome Classic" and "Ubuntu" - all three run xorg - no wayland. $ echo $XDG_SESSION_TYPE x11
None of these three can run a joined display. Mirror (2 x 1080p) works well. Also Extending the screen when running the screen in non-native (1080p) works. so I started experimenting - used a different hdmi cable (1.4 with ethernet) but same also used a HDMI to DP adapter and connected that - nothing. then I tried running the screen as a "single" display - that also failed, Now, I am running the proprietary nvidia driver (so I can switch intel and nvidia, I think it's called PRIME) - I switched to Intel only but same. Can't run the screen in QHD resolution, be it joined or single. UPDATE 26 April updated to Ubuntu 20.04 and still same. mirror and joined works in xorg and wayland (same) but the screen does not work in QHD (2560x1440) in either display manager and not as "single display" either. both in "intel only" and "nvidia" mode. (prime) using proprietary driver I can choose. nouveau does not allow me to chose, also doesn't work in QHD. anything I can do to help? cheers and thanks for all the work Andreas Andreas -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu-X, which is subscribed to xorg-server in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1872164 Title: qhd (joined) via hdmi 1.4 not working To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/xorg-server/+bug/1872164/+subscriptions _______________________________________________ Mailing list: https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat Post to : ubuntu-x-swat@lists.launchpad.net Unsubscribe : https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat More help : https://help.launchpad.net/ListHelp
