Using ssh to get into this sick box i was able to issue X -config and
suddently the screen on the sick machine gave me a terminal log in screen, I
was told that a new xorg.conf.new file was in my /home/wirechief , after
fumbleing around i finally got the screen reset and am now able to login to the
desktop.
All i can say is this new process of creating a new xorg.conf is very confusing
and someone needs to do a decent writeup on how a user should respond to this
blank screen business, while it was blank i noticed that caps lock would not
light up when toggled.
I think the reason i had so much trouble was that yesterday i compiled the
radeon driver for my ati card and this new update brought
a new kernel, this of course mucked up my xserver as the radeon was not
compiled with it.
