This looks like a low level problem. So either in the kernel, or in the Xorg driver.
Since you are using the old Xorg driver 'xserver-xorg-video-intel', I first recommend removing that package or changing your Xorg config to NOT use the 'intel' driver. Your system is easily new enough to use the recommended 'modesetting' driver instead. Please remove the 'intel' driver and retest. Then please run: journalctl -b0 > journal.txt and send us the file 'journal.txt'. ** Changed in: xorg-server (Ubuntu) Status: New => Incomplete ** Package changed: xorg-server (Ubuntu) => xserver-xorg-video-intel (Ubuntu) -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu-X, which is subscribed to xorg-server in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1816231 Title: There is regular screen flickering/flashing (when the mouse isn't moving) To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/xserver-xorg-video-intel/+bug/1816231/+subscriptions _______________________________________________ Mailing list: https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat Post to : ubuntu-x-swat@lists.launchpad.net Unsubscribe : https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat More help : https://help.launchpad.net/ListHelp
