All right, I took your advice and tested several older kernels:

linux-headers-4.10.0-19_4.10.0-19.21_all.deb
linux-headers-4.10.0-19-generic_4.10.0-19.21_amd64.deb
linux-headers-4.10.0-26_4.10.0-26.30_all.deb
linux-headers-4.10.0-26-generic_4.10.0-26.30_amd64.deb
linux-headers-4.11.0-13_4.11.0-13.19_all.deb
linux-headers-4.11.0-13-generic_4.11.0-13.19_amd64.deb
linux-headers-4.12.0-13_4.12.0-13.14_all.deb
linux-headers-4.12.0-13-generic_4.12.0-13.14_amd64.deb
linux-image-4.10.0-19-generic_4.10.0-19.21_amd64.deb
linux-image-4.10.0-26-generic_4.10.0-26.30_amd64.deb
linux-image-4.11.0-13-generic_4.11.0-13.19_amd64.deb
linux-image-4.12.0-13-generic_4.12.0-13.14_amd64.deb

I installed all these deb files, and booted with them, and the bug is
STILL present.

It seems like I can't reproduce the working kernel of the artful livecd.

Any idea about how should I proceed?
