Hi, I went through steps 1 through 3, but even after applying the workaround from 994921 (commenting out the line of code), rebooting, and replicating the bug no .crash file was generated. I was lucky enough to have the screen stay uncorrupted during the lag phase of the bug and I already had the terminal open on screen for use when the mouse stopped responding. I was able to run top and there was one process that was consistently at between 40 and 60% cpu usage: kworker/u8:4-events_unbound . I have no idea what that is but everything else on the system was at 0.3% or less, including xorg.
