Public bug reported:

The screen is unusably bright and I cannot adjust its brightness by any
of the following methods:

"To change the brightness of your screen, click the system menu on the
right side of the top bar and adjust the screen brightness slider to the
value you want to use. The change should take effect immediately".

"You can also adjust the screen brightness by using the Power panel".

Prior to upgrade, the brightness controller app worked
(https://github.com/LordAmit/Brightness).

After the upgrade, it does not.
