Hi. Thanks for quick response.
You're mentioning that I need to use prime-select. Do you have a link on how I should proceed with on terminal or in a different fashion. My concern is that I have a built machine and really want to use Ubuntu/Linux distro. Nvidia drivers is for my need to do video and photo edit while also gaming for my kids. Much appreciated Best regards Sebastian Carter 26. apr. 2017 7:41 a.m. skrev "Timo Aaltonen" <tjaal...@ubuntu.com>: you're using an unofficial ppa which could mess things up, besides your machine is a hybrid machine so you need to use prime-select in order to switch to nvidia ** Changed in: xorg (Ubuntu) Status: New => Invalid -- You received this bug notification because you are subscribed to the bug report. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1686243 Title: NVIDIA driver Status in xorg package in Ubuntu: Invalid Bug description: Trying for days to install an nvidia driver ProblemType: Bug DistroRelease: Ubuntu 16.10 Package: xorg 1:7.7+13ubuntu4 ProcVersionSignature: Ubuntu 4.8.0-49.52-lowlatency 4.8.17 Uname: Linux 4.8.0-49-lowlatency x86_64 .tmp.unity_support_test.0: ApportVersion: 2.20.3-0ubuntu8.2 Architecture: amd64 CompizPlugins: No value set for `/apps/compiz-1/general/ screen0/options/active_plugins' CompositorRunning: None CurrentDesktop: XFCE Date: Wed Apr 26 01:19:29 2017 DistUpgraded: 2017-04-26 01:05:13,339 DEBUG icon theme changed, re-reading DistroCodename: yakkety DistroVariant: ubuntu DkmsStatus: bbswitch, 0.8, 4.8.0-49-lowlatency, x86_64: installed nvidia-378, 378.13, 4.8.0-49-lowlatency, x86_64: installed ExtraDebuggingInterest: Yes GraphicsCard: Intel Corporation Xeon E3-1200 v3/4th Gen Core Processor Integrated Graphics Controller [8086:0412] (rev 06) (prog-if 00 [VGA controller]) Subsystem: ASUSTeK Computer Inc.
