@ernst: Many, many thanks for the details . . . I can see numerous "errors" showing up as the OS loads, including something about the "r128" "failing," I think we've discussed some of these things before . . . but, since for the most part "things were working" I didn't mess with it.
But, indeed, very easy to test out your suggestion for the r128 module . . . and then see what happens. I did check the "Display" stats in the Control Center and it seemed like things were showing "OK" . . . but, didn't do any "lsmod" checks, etc. Might be able to get to that tomorrow . . . I'll post back if and when I do . . . . Again, appreciate the time you spent on this . . . .
