updating to the Vivid enablement stack addresses the issue as outlined
in https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Kernel/LTSEnablementStack .

If not, please file a new report via a terminal:
ubuntu-bug xorg

Please ensure you have the package xdiagnose installed, and that you
click the Yes button for attaching additional debugging information.

regarding this being fixed with a BIOS update. For future reference you
