I am experiencing the same issue on a Dell Inspiron 15 with a touch screen (kubuntu 14.10 and also with 15.04). Here, I can get touchpad working again if I touch the screen once. The touchpad gets alive again, but the touch screen stops working completely. I tried to compile kernel 4.0.4, but it did not solved this issue.
