My screen also crashes (weird lines/colors) when I lock the screen. What I know so far is that it is the ATI driver since when using X.org drivers this doesn't happen. Furthermore, it seems is a problem of LightDM because this happens when locking but not when suspending (which doesn't ask me to log in again).
I have Xubuntu 14.04. Upgraded to 14.04.2 and still same problem. I don't know how to report the bug since there is no formal crash in the sense that I need to reboot the computer. I can either log out (ctrl+alt+supr) or switch to another session (ctrl+alt+f1) and then go back to x-session (ctrl+alt+f7), which apparently restarts lightdm?
