The ability to offload rendering from one video card to another is already implemented. It is called PRIME. The problem in your case is that the open-source nouveau driver in Ubuntu 14.04 only has basic support for your NVIDIA GTX 750 and needs you to extract the microcode files after installing the proprietary NVIDIA driver, after which you can uninstall the proprietary driver if you want.
